History

Chinese medicine is the oldest continuously practiced professional medicine in the world and includes the modalities of herbal therapy, acupuncture, moxibustion, tuina, qigong and dietary therapy. It is based on meticulous observation of the natural world, which the ancient Chinese formalized as the system of the five phases and yin yang theory.

One of the oldest medical texts still in common use today, the Huang Di Nei Jing (the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine), emerged during the 1st century BCE. Since then, the study and practice of Chinese medicine have expanded throughout the Far East and eventually around the world. Over the centuries they have absorbed the insights and accomplishments of academically trained doctors serving China’s elite as well as countless village and family practitioners.

Today traditional medicine has been integrated with the latest achievements in biomedicine, offering patients the best of both worlds according to their individual needs.
